Vaiko says MDMK will fight alongside DMK to thwart Hindutva forces
Coimbatore: MDMK chief was in town to raise funds for the election. The election fundraising ceremony on behalf of MDMK was held at MDMK office at Siddhapudur Road, Coimbatore. MDMK Council Chairman Tirupur S. Duraisamy presided over the function. Coimbatore District Secretary RR Mohan Kumar presided.
Coimbatore and Tirupur District Secretaries, Union Secretaries and Divisional Secretaries were given a total of Rs. 80 lakh 88 thousand as election fund for the first phase of the election. Out of this a maximum of Rs. 30 lakh 88 thousand was given on behalf of Coimbatore District.
Speaking to the executives, Vaiko said, "We have raised funds at a time when we were unable to ask for funds during this difficult period. MDMK is the only party that raises money from the public for elections. There is no need to raise funds in case other parties as they have enough funds that is already accumulated.We meet with people and collect funds with our head held high and people also respect dignitaries who come to ask for funds. Even if the amount is small they give it to us with love. MDMK is a party that can work for the good of Tamil Nadu. Methane and Sterlite protest was conducted by MDMK."
He added, "MDMK will fight alongside DMK to thwart Hindutva forces. Due to this we are in alliance with DMK. None of the volunteers or executives who are in the party expecting anything. They do not want to be MLA or councillor but are firm on their ideology."
The event was attended by various executives including Youth Secretary Eeswaran, Area Organization Secretary Velliangiri, General Committee Member Pioneer Thiagu, Auditor Arjun Raj, Tirupur District Secretary RTM.
