Sengalipalayam dam is being dredged on behalf of Siruthuli
Coimbatore: Siruthuli, Coimbatore’s most recognised NGO, works to keep Coimbatore clean and green and it is now in the process of renovating the Sengalipalayam check dam in an effort to protect the water bodies. BOSCH funded the project and started the work.

Headed by Mahalingam Gopalakrishnan, ENGG. MANAGER, RBEI / ETP2 and presided over by Ashokapuram Panchayat Chairman S. Ramesh, Deputy Chairman R. Shanmugasundaram, Siruthuli Managing Trustee Vanitha Mohan, Siruthuli and BOSCH staff and public were also present. They said that the current drought in this dam will alleviate and fill up the groundwater level significantly after the monsoon season.
Once the works are completed, the dam will be able to store about 48.6 million liters of water.

They said they were pleased that they were going to hand over the land in safe hands as several children living nearby participated in this event with great interest. All the people of the town vowed to maintain the dam well and not to dump any more waste into it.
