Coimbatore: A youth was killed in a kidnapping incident by 9 in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore Mettupalayam Police Officials in their report said that "Suresh from Madurai along with Sujith and their friends from Periyanaickenpalayam kidnapped a youth named Manigandan from Nallampalayam in their car and thrashed him in January."
Post this Manigandan was admitted at the government hospital and was receiving treatment. He was then discharged on 28th January. But unfortunately since his conditions became worse, Manigandan was admitted at the Coimbatore Ganga Hospital where he passed away failing to respond to treatment.
After a complaint filed by Manigandan's father at the Mettupalayam Police Station a case was filed under IPC sections 448, 364, 302.
Police authorities under SP Arularasu, Deputy Superintendent Police Arokiyaraj and Karamadai Police Inspector Selvaraj organised a team and conducted an investigation.
During the investigation the police officials arrested Suresh Kumar, Raja Gopal, Vadivel and Shree Hari today(12.02.2021) for links to this case. They were then sentenced to judicial custody. Police team is currently in search of the remaining 5 members who killed Manigandan.
Coimbatore SP Arularasu appreciated the police officials for their timely arrest.
