Coimbatore City Police competed with the members of the National Security Guard
Coimbatore: Around 160 members of the National Security Guard (NSG) reached Coimbatore to conduct various counter-terrorism mock drills in the district.
According to that a schedule was set and by that on February 10th a drill was conducted at the TamilNadu Agricultural University (TNAU), on the 11th of February the drill took place at the Airforce School in Race Course and at the ITC Welcome Hotel from 6 pm to 12th February morning 3 am.
District police officials, Weaponry division, Tamilnadu Commando force, Doctor's team, Revenue department officials and Fire and Rescue Department officials took part in this drill.
During the drill members disguised themselves as terrorists and used fake bombs to bring out the true nature of the drills. Even fake hostages were set-up in this drill with the help of Coimbatore District Police Officials. Officers were timed on how quickly they completed their drills.
Coimbatore District Police Officials performed equally to the group of National Security Guards. Post this Coimbatore Police Commissioner Sumit Sharan congratulated the authorities on their incredible performance during the drill.
