Coimbatore: Tractor carrying corn husks catches fire as it grazes over an electric line.
Madankumar is from Mothirapuram area next to Pollachi. He has been farming in the same area. This evening, while loading the corn husks from Pollachi on the Pollachi - Mothirapuram road, the corn husk caught fire when it unexpectedly hit the power line. Madankumar immediately threw all the corn on the tractor in the road.
Firefighters reached the spot upon information and extinguished the fire with water. Madankumar, who was driving the tractor, was rushed to Pollachi Government Hospital with burns on both hands. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the accident took place as the tractor was loaded with corn husks at exceeding height.
