Coimbatore East DMK Secretary Karthik MLA met with the press and stated that "Tamilnadu government has issued a government order to a French company named Suez to distribute drinking water supply in Coimbatore for 26 years. This contract for 150 crores to the Suez company is completely against people's policy."
"Drinking water is one of the basic amenities that people deserve. AIADMK Minister SP Velumani and Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy are not able to distribute water supply that they have given the contract to a private company.
Coimbatore Corporation must immediately terminate the contract filed with Suez company. DMK party members will participate in a protest tomorrow(12th February) against the 998 crores Smart City Project which is completely under corruption of Rural Development Minister SP Velumani and other basic public duties that the government has failed to do."
DMK party members will take part in this protest which is scheduled to take place at the Peelamedu Rotti Kadai ground at 4 pm.
