Employees to go on statewide siege of District Collector offices on February 19.
Coimbatore: Employees to go on statewide siege of District Collector offices on February 19. The Government of Tamil Nadu had canceled projects that affect the livelihood of government employees.
They demanded that the 41-month suspension of road workers should be converted into working hours and that 21 months' arrears should be paid, and that the librarians and nurses of the Midday meals, Anganwadi and nurses should be paid on time.

They said it is disappointing that the Tamil Nadu government has not heeded to their demands for ten days and urged that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy should consider their demands soon.

If the Tamil Nadu government refuses to hold talks with the Tamil Nadu Government Employees Union before February 19, the state Government Employees Union will decide to siege the General Secretariat in Chennai and in offices across Tamil Nadu on February 19.

Senthilkumar, president of the Coimbatore District Government Employee Union, said that the “Tamil Nadu government's tendency to ignore the demands of 20 lakh government employees was condemnable and that the Tamil Nadu government should be prepared to face the protest government employees across the state.”
