Bus and lorry caught fire in Pollachi
Coimbatore: A fire broke out at Pollachi Gandhi market in Coimbatore district today in which a lorry and a bus caught fire and fortunately people survived. The fire department fought and extinguished the fire. Police said a fire broke out in a vehicle waste piled up like a mountain in the Pollachi Gandhi Market area. The contents of the lorry bus were destroyed by fire.
Gandhi Market, which is considered to be the largest market in Pollachi, is home to a number of industries including vegetable, fish and scrap iron. This includes rexine sheets used for seats in old vehicles, beading plywood pieces and glass piled up like mountains in the area. A fire broke out in a vehicle waste pile early this morning.
Residents of the area immediately informed the fire department and firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the fire. The truck and bus parked there were destroyed by the fire. The people of the area with the help of the police shifted all the vehicles parked nearby. The fire caused by this vehicle waste has caused great fear among the shop owners in the area.
