Road accident in Tirupur kills one and injures another heavily

Lorry driver arrested by the police officials for further investigation.


Tirupur: Veluchamy and Arukani, a couple from Murugampalayam area in Tirupur were on their way home after work last night.

When the couple tried to overtake the lorry on the left near the Murugampalayam - Koteeswara road junction Arukkani got on the back wheel of a lorry and died on the spot. Her husband Veluchamy was then rushed to Government Hospital for treatment.

Veerapandi police officials who investigated the case checked the CCTV footage regarding the accident and have now arrested the lorry driver Madasamy and are further investigating the case.
