Members of the Legislative Assessment Committee todayconducted an inspection at the old bus stand in Tirupur regarding the updates in terms of development of the city under the Smart City project.
Tirupur: Members of the Legislative Assessment Committee today conducted an inspection at the old bus stand in Tirupur regarding the updates in terms of development of the city under the Smart City project.
Officials also inspected the work progress at the Medical College undertaken by the Tirupur District Corporation. MLA’s from Tirupur North, Palladam and Dharapuram arrived at the venue with the legislative Assessment team, but Tirupur South MLA arrived late at the location.
Tirupur South MLA Gunasekharan said that he came late because of the Legislative Assessment Committee who did not inform him properly about the inspection tour and said that he was only informed about the review meeting that was to be held in the evening. He then got into an argument with the Legislative Assessment Committee members in front of the opposition MLA's.
Following this, Thoppu Venkatachalam, the Chairman of the Legislative Assessment Committee, reconciled with him and started the inspection.
This incident created panic in the area for sometime.
