Coimbatore: Interview for the post of Corporation Junior Assistant was held in Coimbatore yesterday. Officials said 214 people did not turn up for the interview yesterday evening.
Interviews were held yesterday for 69 vacant junior assistant posts in Coimbatore Corporation. 5 teams checked the certificates. Of those, 214 did not appear for the interview. In Coimbatore, 103 undergraduate assistant posts were vacant and 34 posts were given to cleaning supervisors / registrars / drivers on the basis of seniority. Interviews for the remaining 69 jobs were held yesterday at Tatabad Corporation Middle School.
In total, 654 interview letters were sent. A team led by Assistant Commissioners Murugan, Sundarajan, Senthilkumar Rathinam, Ravi and Annathurai checked the certificates of the applicants. 440 people participated, 214 people did not turn up for the interview. Meanwhile, some have petitioned the commissioner to offer the post of junior assistant to those who have been dropped out in the seniority list.
Of the cleaning supervisors, 4 have given a letter asking them not to hire them as a junior assistant.
