Coimbatore: Meteorology department has announced cold weather continues in Coimbatore.
In all the districts of Tamil Nadu, the impact of the cold has lessened a little and the summer heat has begun. But the cold in Coimbatore is still gripping. Meteorologist Santosh Krishnan said there would be severe cold and mist in Coimbatore and northern districts for two more weeks.

He added, "Coimbatore has been experiencing dry weather for the past two weeks as the winds have not reached our area. Dry weather will continue across Tamil Nadu for two more weeks. In the coming days, cold dry winds coming from high pressure formed in the northern states will penetrate the Tamil Nadu landscape, creating cold weather at night. The next round of rains is expected in March. With the easterly and westerly winds disrupted, Kerala and the adjoining districts of the mountains are likely to get warmer earlier this year.
