6 arrested for stealing raw materials kept for Coimbatore flyover
Coimbatore: 6 arrested for stealing raw materials kept for Coimbatore flyover. Flyover work is underway in Coimbatore. Police have arrested and jailed six people for stealing and selling raw materials for the construction of flyovers there.
Construction work of flyover is underway at Ramanathapuram, Trichy road. The wire and construction materials required for this are kept in the same area. 40 thousand rupees worth of construction materials including iron wire were stolen.
Ramanathapuram police investigating the complaint and found that that Kabar Khan, 33, Abdul Kadar 18, Shahrukh Khan, 23, of Bharathi Nagar, Fir Mohammed 23 of Ukkadam, Mohammad Tareeq, 20 and Balamurugan 20, of Pullukattu Housing Unit were arrested.
Similarly, it was revealed that they had stolen three times and sold them at a scrap shop. Police said, the total value of the stolen construction materials was estimated at seven lakh rupees.
