Muslims petition Pollachi Sub Collector requesting a permanent ban against making derogatory remarks on minorities in public events

BJP Members Kalyana Raman and Jaishankar made a controversial statement offending Islamic sentiments.


Coimbatore: BJP Members Kalyana Raman and Jaishankar took part in a campaign last month in Mettupalayam and Singanallur areas of Coimbatore. During their address BJP members Kalyana Raman and Jaishankar made derogatory remarks on Islamic Leader Prophet Muhammad which created a controversy.

After this members of the Pollachi Town Sunnath Jamath Committee visited the Pollachi Sub Collector Office and filed a petition with the Sub Collector today.

In the petition it was stated that " Police officials recently made an arrest of BJP members for their derogatory remarks against Islamic sentiments and leaders. A permanent ban must be implemented against making derogatory remarks on minorities at public events. Also the police officials must file a case on them under the Goonda Act for their behaviour."

"We request the police officials to arrest Vellore Ibrahim who runs Akathuva Jamath and is focused on creating separation between people. Police officials must implement a ban order against Vellore Ibrahim entering Coimbatore district."
