Coimbatore: Students excited as school and colleges opened todaywith coronavirus prevention measures after a long break. The Tamil Nadu government has announced the reopening of government and private schools and colleges that have been closed for the past 10 months due to coronavirus.

Educational institutions, including schools and colleges, have been closed since March last year as a precaution against coronavirus. The schools and college were closed due to safety concerns. Thus, for the last six months, arrangements have been made to conduct online classes and for about 10 consecutive months the students have been studying at home with their mobile phones and laptops.



Though students may face psychological problems by learning at home via cell phone without going to school or college, online classes were regularly conducted to protect against coronavirus infection. Schools were opened for 10th and 12th class students after the impact of coronavirus declined. Following this, the Government of Tamil Nadu has given permission to open 9th, 11th classes and colleges from today8th.



Earlier, as government, private schools and colleges started classes after disinfecting the classrooms. Library, public spaces and dining halls are also being disinfected for the use of students. Public toilets are cleaned with pesticides. Students are required to wear a face mask and various restrictions have been imposed. Students will be allowed inside only after a body temperature was tested.
