Siege protest at Tirupur Collectorate: Petition to ban BJP members Kalyana Raman, Jaishankar and Vellore Ibrahim from entering district

BJP members who participated in a political campaign made derogatory remarks on Islamic Leader Prophet Muhammad.


Tirupur: BJP Members Kalyana Raman, Jaishankar and Vellore Ibrahim participated in campaign in Coimbatore and surrounding areas. Kalyanaraman and Jaishankar made derogatory remarks on Prophet Muhammad. After receiving complaints against the BJP representatives, police officials arrested them.



But muslims from across the state have requested the police officials to arrest them under the Goonda Act and National Security Act for their remarks which can affect the secularism of the Nation.

As a part of this ongoing issue, over 500 women and men from the Islamic Community in Tirupur, sieged the Tirupur Collectorate Office and gave a petition.

Members of Islamic community in their petition requested the authorities to arrest Kalyana Raman, Jaishankar and Vellore Ibrahim under National Security Act. They also requested to ban the three people from entering Tirupur District.
