Coimbatore: Patteeswarar temple elephant left to Elephant Rejuvenation camp after special pooja and adornments. Elephant welfare camp starts todayat Mettupalayam.



Following this, special poojas were performed for the elephant Kalyani of Patteeswarar Temple in Perur, Coimbatore yesterday and he was taken to the Mettupalayam camp with all the adornment in great pomp early morning yesterday.

The special welfare camp for elephants at Thekkampatti, Mettupalayam starts today. In order to participate, weight and physical examinations were done on the elephant Kalyani of Perur Patteeswarar Temple. It weighed 4,610 kg and was found to be in good health. Few people besieged the lorry, condemning the Perur temple administration following which the police negotiated with them.
