Coimbatore: FBO officials inspected the Aavin Palagham in Avinashi Road after receiving information that the shop owner is using milk from a private company.
During the inspection FBO officials did not find a valid fssai licence for the shop.
FBO officials also found the shop owner using adulterated Tea dust, artificial colour powder in food preparation, banned plastic items, newspapers to keep prepared foods, snacks without proper labelling and 7 expired soda beverages.
The owner was not wearing face mask, not using sanitizer and using other safety precautions at the shop premises.
After this FBO Officials seized and destroyed 1.2 kg of banned plastic items, 0.700 GM's food colouring, 2.5 kg of adulterated Tea dust, 0.500 kg of newspapers, 39 packets of snacks without proper labels and 7 expired soda beverages.
FBO Officials then issued U/s 55 Notice & U/s 63 Notice and fined the shop owner Rs 2000. FBO officials said that the shop will remain shut until getting proper fssai licence along with the settlement of the penalties issued.
