Hindu Munnani district general secretary arrested for slandering Prophet


Coimbatore: Hindu Munnani District General secretary was arrested for slandering Prophet Muhammad following similar statements by BJP’s Kalyanaraman.

Singanallur police today arrested Hindu Munnani functionary Jaishankar. Singanallur police said a protest was held in Coimbatore on February 1st evening at the Singanallur bus stand on behalf of the Hindu Munnani. The protest was held to condemn the arrest of Hindu Munnani leader Kalyanaraman. Hindu Munnani district general secretary Jaishankar spoke at the protest and had made statements slandering Prophet Muhammad. The video of his statements went viral.

Following this, several Islamic organizations staged protests and petitioned the police and the district administration to arrest Jaisankar. The Singanallur police filed a case against Jaisankar under sections 130 - 2021U.S. 143, 341, 270, 153 IPC and searched for him. Jaisankar was arrested by Singanallur police this evening which has caused a stir among the Hindu Munnani.
