Indigo bets big on Coimbatore: 19 Direct flights to be operated every day from March end


Coimbatore: 'Indigo' airlines is gearing up to operate 19 direct flights to various destinations at Coimbatore airportevery day from March end. After the pandemic outbreak both the passengers movements and flight services continue to witness a steady growth every month.

At present, more than 5,000 passengers and 20 Flights are operated each day at Coimbatore International Airport. Under the domestic sector, flight services are provided to various cities such as Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata etc.

All the airlines have started showing interest in increasing their flight services. At present Indigo airlines is providing more services at the Coimbatore international Airport. The airlines management has recently received the 'COVID WARRIOR' award from AAICLAS Cargo Terminal, Coimbatore Airport under ‘More volume of belly load’ in domestic movement Category.

This airline has also made history by starting a new service North East. Initially to Kolkata which has now been further extended to Imphal and Bagdogra. Following this, Indigo airlines management is gearing up to increase the daily direct flight service provided at Coimbatore airport. Aviation Sources said, "At present on an average each day Indigo airlines is providing more than 10 services at Coimbatore airport. From March 28, the airlines is gearing up to start 19 direct flight services every day at Coimbatore.

First flight would start at 7:15 amand the last direct flight service would be at 11:15 pm. The direct flight services would be given to Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Pune etc. Before 'Covid-19' Indigo Airlines were operating 21 flights every day at Coimbatore. It is to be noted that post pandemic outbreak from March 28, 2021 they are going to operate 21 flights every day from Coimbatore.
