4th day Govt employee protest: Police officials arrest over 100 govt employees for storming Coimbatore District Collectorate

Members of the Government Workers Union continued their protest for the 4th day today.


Coimbatore: Government Workers Union are participating in various protests for the 4th day todayacross various districts in Tamilnadu.



The protestors involved in these protests request the Government to sanction their various requests immediately. Some of their requests include filling the 4.5 lakhs vacant positions in Tamilnadu, salaries according to the grade pay to the 3.5 lakh workers in the departments including Anganwadi workers, Mid-day meal scheme workers, Revenue and Panchayat board workers, MRB Nurse, Cancellation of Adi Seshaiya Committee which ruins the employment chances of youngsters, cancellation of new pension scheme, reinstating the old pension scheme, 50 lakh rupees for workers who died due to Covid-19, special salary for Covid-19 workers etc.



As a part of their protest, the members of the workers union participated in a siege at Coimbatore District Collector Office. Police officials arrested more than 100 members involved in these protests.
