Cops and DMK party members clash in Coimbatore as police arrest Nanjil Sampath

Popular speaker Nanjil Sampath took part in this demonstration and addressed the gathering in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: DMK party members protested in the Kurichi, Sundarapuram area of Coimbatore, condemning the government for taking no actions regarding the issues faced by the people of the locality. Popular speaker Nanjil Sampath took part in this demonstration and addressed the gathering.

Police officials then arrested Nanjil Sampath and other DMK members who took part in this protest without permission. Clash occurred between DMK members and the police officials when they tried arresting the members.

DMK members took part in a roadside demonstration urging the authorities to release Nanjil Sampath. Police authorities involuntarily arrested the DMK members who chanted slogans against AIADMK Minister SP Velumani for his corrupt activities. This again caused a clash between the DMK members and Police officials.

Before the arrest Nanjil Sampath addressed the media and stated that "Prison is the place I use to prepare my wings, I am not going to be worried about getting arrested. The present government's rule is going to expire soon. AIADMK party will go down as DMK will soon arise."

He then said that "Chief Minister cancelling the Cooperative loans of farmers is a long term request made by DMK leader MK Stalin. No matter what AIADMK does, they won't be back in power. "

Nanjil Sampath then stated that Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy is just ruling Tamilnadu for namesake and that DMK chief MK Stalin was the real leader.

Heavy traffic and commotion was witnessed for about 2 hours in the area where the demonstration happened.
