With the election booths in Coimbatore set, District Collector Rajamani inspected the venues in person todayahead of state polls.
Coimbatore: Under the directions of the Election Commission of India, election booths and vote counting booths are being set-up across districts in Tamilnadu. As a part of that, District Collectors and District Election Officials are to inspect the proceedings in person.
According to the orders, Coimbatore District Collector Rajamani todayvisited the vote counting centre established at the Government College of Technology.
This vote counting centre will count the votes collected from the 10 assembly constituencies in the district namely Coimbatore North, Coimbatore South, Singanallur, Sulur, Thondamuthur, Mettupalayam, Pollachi, Valparai, Kinathukadavu and Kavundampalayam.
District Officials and Public Department Officials were briefed on how to handle the EVM machines that are to be used in Coimbatore, Protection of the collected votes in Strong Room and various other security details regarding the upcoming 2021 elections.
The district officials were also ordered to furnish basic amenities like electricity, water facility and other election related details like EVM machines storage unit, passage to caste vote, additional voting booths to avoid crowd etc. District Collector Rajamani todayinspected the facilities and discussed how to handle the upcoming elections.
