Action needed against counterfeit M.Sand makers: Corporation Contractors Welfare Association demand


Coimbatore: Corporation Contractors Welfare Association demand action against counterfeit M.Sand makers. Coimbatore Corporation Contractors Welfare Association President Udayakumar Secretary KCP Chandra Prakash has sent a petition to the Tamil Nadu Public Works Administration, the Tamil Nadu Environment and Pollution Control Board and the Coimbatore District Administration. Mixing M Sand in Crusher Powder has become widespread.

Two units of M Sand, two units of quarry dust powder mixed and sold as M.Sand. and water is mixed to make it look like M Sand. Non-standard M Sand is made in Cone Crusher.

The sand looks like the standard M sand and is made in the VSI machine grinding the sand and gravel and washing it in the M sand washer and is sold as white M sand. The use of this type of M.Sand can pose a great danger to buildings.‌

They demanded that the public works department should only allow M sand with a quality testing certificate, V.S.I Approval Certified and Quality M. Sand and Only quality M.Sand produced by this type of certified manufacturer should be allowed for public use by the Public Works Administration.

They urged that the Public Works Department, Pollution Control Board and the district administration should take stern action against those who produce and sell other counterfeit M sand also fake M Sand should be confiscated and disposed of.

The public should be not deceived by selling quarry powders in the form of M-sand. The petition urged to investigate crusher and quarry units producing counterfeit M.Sand and B.Sand and said that companies producing substandard and dangerous M.Sand should be identified and cracked down.
