Coimbatore: Social activists and public request District Collector to hold a 'Matha Nallinakkam' meeting and resolve issues in Coimbatore. The public has demanded the District Collector to hold a 'Matha nallinakkam' meeting and bring peace to the Coimbatore district as protests continue between the two religions.

Public expects to hold a 'Matha Nallinakkam' meeting to resolve issues on both sides. The BJP held a rally in Mettupalayam condemning the slandering of Prime Minister Modi during SDPI rally. Kalyanaraman of BJP was arrested for slandering the Prophet.

The BJP and Muslim groups have been protesting for the past three days, condemning the Muslim groups for slandering Modi and BJP the Prophet. A case has been registered against the protesters at 7 places on behalf of the BJP yesterday. Cases have been registered against the Islams who protested in 4 different places.

There is a tense situation as both continue to accuse and protest. There is also a problem in providing police protection. Social activists and the public have called on the District Collector to call on both parties to hold a 'Matha Nallinakkam' meeting to resolve the issue.
