Members of the "Nallur Vayal Meetpu Kuluvinar" say that the area is registered as Nallur Vayal according to the Government Gazette.
Coimbatore: The Area around Karunya University in Siruvani, Coimbatore has been known as Karunya Nagar for some time. Members of the "Nallur Vayal Meetpu Kuluvinar" today went as a demonstration in Alandurai road against the Nallur Vayal being called as Karunya Nagar.
Members of the "Nallur Vayal Meetpu Kuluvinar" say that the area is registered as Nallur Vayal according to the Government Gazette.
As the demonstration went on with proper permission, police officials arrested more than 350 people who took part in this demonstration. This caused an argument between the police and the protestors.
Later more than 500 members sat on the road and started a roadside protest.
The members raised slogans to turn the area's original name back.
