Tamil Perarasu Party's General Secretary and Film Director VA Gowthaman who came to know about this came to Varapatti village todayto meet the locals.
Police officials were stationed at the area on receiving information that VA Gowthaman is going to visit Varapatti.
Later Director VA Gowthaman's car was stopped around 3 kms before the area and police officials denied permission to meet the locals.
This created an argument between the police officials and VA Gowthaman.
Later Director and Politician VA Gowthaman met with the press and stated that "Tamil Perarasu Party will oppose any new scheme that pawns off the land and nature of Tamilnadu. TodayI came to meet the local public of Varapatti and to submit a petition at the District Collectorate against the new SIPCOT Industrial Estate in Varapatti, the ruling party has shown their dictatorship by controlling the police. Then DSP contacted me on the phone and asked me to meet him at the office, I went with the police not knowing if I will be imprisoned. I am ready to do anything to protect our land and people."
