Coimbatore: Government employees besiege the Coimbatore Collectorate for second day in a row.
More than 100 government employees were arrested for besieging the district collectorate for a second day, demanding various things, including filling vacancies. Protests are taking place across the state on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government Employees Union demanding various things.

As part of this, government employees besieged the district collector's office in Coimbatore and took to the streets to protest. Then four and a half lakh vacancies will have to be filled in Tamil Nadu. Anganwadi, Nutrition, Revenue, Village office Assistants, MRP Nurses and 3.50 lakh people have to be paid term wise salary.

They demanded that the recommendation of the Adiseshiah Committee to snatch the employment of the youth should be canceled, the 41-month layoff period of road workers should be converted as working hours. The criminal record issued to the participants in the Jacto-Jio struggle should be revoked and they raised various slogans emphasizing the demands including the need to implement the old pension scheme.
