Woman allegedly assaulted in DMK Grama Sabha meet: 4 DMK cadres surrender in Coimbatore court
Coimbatore: 4 DMK cadres surrender in Coimbatore court in the incident where a woman was assaulted in DMK Grama Sabha meet.
Last month, DMK leader Stalin held a meeting across Tamil Nadu in the name of the Grama Sabha Meet. At a meeting attended by DMK leader Stalin in the Thondamuthur constituency of Coimbatore district, she was asked to be taken away because the woman named Poongodi belonged to AIADMK and raised questions to cause a stir in the meeting.
The police registered a case against Rajendran, Sami Paiyan, Rangasamy and Raja of DMK on the complaint lodged by Poongodi. 4 DMK workers had filed a petition in the Chennai High Court seeking pre-bail, and the High Court had advised them to surrender in the Coimbatore District Court today and seek bail.
Following this, Rajendran, Sami Paiyan, Rangasamy and Raja from DMK surrendered in the Coimbatore court today and filed a bail petition. The trial is set to begin at 4 p.m.
