1200 native herbaceous trees were planted on the private school premises near Tirupur for afforestation
Coimbatore: An attempt was made to create a forest called Senthur Vanam on the premises of Senthur Vidyalaya School in Kaniyampoondi area under Avinashi taluk of Tirupur district. For this purpose, about 1,200 native herbaceous trees of 84 varieties including Mahilam, Nawal, Iluppai, Poovarasu, Vanni and Vagai were planted.

A large number of school children participated and planted trees. Murugasamy, the owner of the school, said that the school was organizing to make the school premises hygienic and natural so that the students could study in a natural environment in the current environment.
