Coimbatore DMK East Secretary Karthick along with 1000 others were arrested by the police officials who participated in the protest without permission.
Coimbatore: DMK party members participated in a demonstration protest requesting the corporation officials to rebuild the road from 40th ward Sree Ram Nagar Food Grains Storage Warehouse till Sathy Road.
Coimbatore DMK East Secretary Karthik MLA, DMK functionaries Nagaraj and Mahesh Kumar headed this demonstration protest and raised their voices and placards urging the officials to rebuild the road immediately.
During the protest, DMK East Secretary Karthick MLA said that "This road has remained damaged over the last 10 years making it unsafe for the public to just walk on it. I have continuously raised concerns regarding this at every assembly meeting in the last 5 years. I have also met the District Collector more than 10 times regarding this issue and requested to take immediate action. I have also met the Corporation Commissioner regarding the same and have filed more than 50 complaints regarding the rebuilding of this road. Yet no action has been taken by the District Officials nor by the Corporation Officials." He said.
