Coimbatore: The suicide of Jesuraj, a micro industrialist has left the micro industry in immense grief.
Yesuraj (47) a resident of Thaneer Pandal, Peelamedu in Coimbatorr was running a engineering workshop in the name 'Suguna Engineering Lathe Workshop' at Irugur, here. Like millions of people, Yesuraj's micro business was gravely affected due to decline in job orders.
Adding to the miserable plight of MSMEs, the spike in raw materials aggravated his financial crisis. Unable to withstand the crisis, on January 28, Yesuraj took the extreme step and committed suicide by hanging himself inside his industry premises.

Based on the complaint given by his wife Sugunadevi, the Singanalur police registered a complaint citing financial crisis and lack of income as his reason for the suicide.

Following this, Kovai Power Driven Pumps and Spares Manufacturers Association(KOPMA) President, K. Maniraj met the family members and consoled them. He also assured them to provide needy help.
While speaking to SimpliCity K. Maniraj said, "Mr. Yesuraj has been working in a micro industry for the past 25 years. With many dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur, he started a lathe workshop at Irugur. Post pandemic outbreak, the micro industry sector was very badly hit. Lack of sufficient job orders made a suffer huge financial losses. Unable to withstand the situation any further, he committed suicide inside his industry premises itself."
"His luntimely death has left the industry in shock and inconsolable. His daughter and son are pursuing college education. On behalf of KOPMA, we have assured the family members all possible help. A rough phase prevails amid micro industrialists. However, suicide is not the right decision. We have to fight hard with confidence and the government also should do the needy help. If not incidents like this will become prevelant. At least after this incident both the State and Central governments should start giving more importance to the micro industries sector", he said.
Yesuraj's wife Sugunadevi thanked 'KOPMA' President K. Maniraj for his heart to help them and added that 'KOPMA' was the first Micro Industry Association who met them in person and rendered their whole heartedly support.
