Coimbatore: Man arrested for swindling Rs 25 crore in Coimbatore. Police said a man wanted in a case for swindling Rs 25 crore fraud case in Coimbatore has been arrested and jailed.
Mani (44), is a former soldier from Coonoor in the Nilgiris district. He and Manjunatha, 37, from Samrajnagar, Karnataka, promised to share profits to investors who invest in a well-known cement company. So people from different areas have invested money.
Lara Vinnarasi (35), a resident of Podanur, Coimbatore, has not been reimbursed up to Rs 5.75 lakh in installments. She lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore Economic Crimes Division police.
The police investigation revealed that the two had committed fraud on several occasions and the two were arrested and jailed last year on charges of swindling up to Rs 25 crore. Manjunatha was absconding now he has been arrested and imprisoned.
