SRMU members protest in Coimbatore against the privatization of railways!

Lives of around 7 lakh workers to be endangered with the privatization of railways.


Coimbatore: Members of SRMU took part in a protest today morning at the Coimbatore Railway Station enforcing the government to consider their varied requests.



Here are some of the requests from Railway Authoritiesto the Government:

Railway Ministry and Spare parts for Army should not be privatised.

Voluntary retirement of workers over the age of 55 with an experience of 30 years should be stopped.

New pension scheme should be scrapped and workers should be given the pension amount which was given before 2004.

Night duty people should be given allowance without any bias of salary grades.

Government should must also scrap the idea of giving the private the control over 252 trains and other train stations.



SRMU workers say that over 7 lakh workers lives are endangered she to the privatization of railways. Over 50 members took part in the protest today.
