The integrated cargo complex at the Coimbatore International Airport has gone digital from today. Integrated Cargo Management System (ICMS 1.1 version) successfully launched.
Coimbatore: The integrated cargo complex at the Coimbatore International Airport has gone digital from today. Integrated Cargo Management System (ICMS 1.1 version) successfully launched.

Aviation sources said, "Integrated Cargo complex at Coimbatore plays a vital role in catering the cargo needs of Coimbatore and the 7 surrounding districts. On an average, 10,000 tonnes of cargo will be handled in the domestic sector and 3,000 tonnes in the international sector every year.
For the first time, the Cargo Terminal at the International Airport has gone digital. Integrated Cargo Management System(ICMS 1.1 version) was successfully launched today.
Airport Director, R Mahalingam presided over the launch and inaugurated the digital transformation. From today the cargo terminal goes 100% digitally integrated with customs. The Export, Import clearance message will automatically come to Automated system."
A press release stated that, "AAI Cargo Logistics & Allied Services Company Ltd, a 100% subsidiary of AAI, implemented an Integrated Cargo Management System (ICMS-1.1 Version) for the modernization and computerization of the operations of its Cargo Business Solutions as part of the paperless and Digital India Programme by abolishing all the manual operations.
The new ICMS 1.1 is the handy tool for online transactions for all the processes of Import, Export and Bonded Trucking.
ICMS is an upgraded version based on the new requirements including implementation for E-freight compliance, web-based feedback system including mobile application."
"ICMS facilitates, exchange of data with Customs EDI in respect of final clearance of Export and Import Cargo processes. Each stage of cargo handling i.e Truck dock, Weighment, Acceptance, Customs Clearance, X-Ray, release of Cargo to Airlines/upliftment.
Similarly, for all stages of Import Cargo right from Receiving till delivery to consignee and also for all types of Reports/MIS. ICMS also facilitates generation of all Terminal Charges Receipts at party’s end itself and Airlines can give Carting Order endorsement/ Delivery Order from anywhere across the globe.
Pre-Deposit Account balances is made known to the users instantly in each invoice itself. Users can see tracking of Cargo and also find out applicable charges."

Cargo terminal operations are inter-dependent on several stakeholders like ground handlers, Airlines, Custom House agents, Banks etc.
Cargo handling process involve multiple data entry points and complex paper work that often leads to manual errors, increased cargo processing time, non-compliance, loss of revenue and goodwill. ICMS 1.1 offers one-point solution for all these difficulties."
