Coimbatore:Sanitary staff besiege the Coimbatore Collectorate demanding housing scheme for all and warned that if the houses are not provided, they will not vote in the coming elections and will boycott the elections.
Three years ago, the Tamil Nadu Housing Board registered a computer for 241 families of sanitary workers working in the Coimbatore Corporation through the housing scheme announced by the Prime Minister of India.

But as the house has not been allotted to date, they todaybesieged the district collector’s office and engaged in a struggle to satisfy their voter ID cards.

They also warned that they would boycott the polls if the houses were not provided immediately. Later, they dispersed after police negotiated peace talks.
