Coimbatore: Unidentified persons attacked a mobile shop owner at midnight in Coimbatore. The owner of a mobile shop in Coimbatore, who was on his way home after locking up his mobile shop last night, was attacked with an iron bar by 4 unidentified persons on a motorcycle. The Kattoor police are investigating the matter.
Owner of a mobile shop at 10th Street, Crosscut, Gandhipuram, Coimbatore. Balaji Swayam Sevak (age 32), closed the shop as usual yesterday and left on a motorcycle. He was approached by two motorcyclists who were approaching the GP signal. In the blink of an eye they started attacking Balaji with iron rods and other weapons they had.
Balaji was seriously injured and the attackers fled as the locals came rushing hearing Balaji scream. Balaji was rushed to Aswin Hospital in Gandhipuram for treatment. Gandhipuram and Kattoor police were informed about this. Police have arrived at the scene and are investigating whether there was previous enmity between Balaji and attackers and who attacked him. The incident has caused a stir in the area.
