Boy drowns in a quarry in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Boy drowned in a quarry in Coimbatore. Thiaku (40), an electrician, is from Anbu Nagar near Malumichampatti in Coimbatore. He had two sons, Rama Guru (15) and Sri Shankar. Ramaguru was in 10th class and Sri Shankar was in 4th class.
The day before yesterday, Sri Shankar had invited his brother to come and take a bath. When he said no, Sri Shankar continued to call as they were bathing in the quarry water in the same area. Two boys from the same area bathed with them. Shankar's brother warned his brother not to go to deep waters as he did not know swimming. But Sri Shankar went to deep waters while playing.
He shouted for help as he started drowning but the boys there could not save Sri Shankar and called for help from those in the neighborhood. Sri Shankar died tragically when they came there rescued the boy and took him to the hospital. Malumichampatti police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
