A memorial service for war veterans is held at St. George's Church in Wellington's Army Training Camp on January 31each year.
Accordingly, this year’s prayer meeting is being observed as National Martyrs Day. This special prayer meeting is held to thank the soldiers for their dedication to the country.

The event was attended by the Commander of the Wellington Army Center Rajeshwar Singh who traditionally laid a wreath in memory of the martyrs of the war. Soldiers attended the 135-year-old church and offered prayers in memory of the martyrs.
