Four arrested in connection with a series of robberies in various parts of Tirupur
Tirupur: Four arrested in connection with a series of robberies in various parts of Tirupur. The incident took place in Palladam area of Tirupur district where a cell phone, xerox shop and clothing store in front of Government Bus Depot bus stand was broken in on Palladam Chettipalayam Road on January 25.
They broke into a clothing store, cellphone shop and stole Rs 5,000 and some cell phones. In the clothing store they stole clothing including jeans pants and at a motorcycle repair shop a furlong away from the store, and stole the motorcycle's engine and ironware.
While police were conducting a vehicle check in the Anna Nagar area yesterday four youths, who came on a motorcycle and a scooter spoke contradictorily for which they were taken to the police station for further investigation.
Thirumurugan, 21, son of Veerapandi of Velliyampatti, Usilampatti taluk, Thirumurthy, 22, son of Somasundaram, son of Pradeep, 23, son of Selvaraj of Palladam Annanagar, and Vinod, 21, son of Veerasamy of Palladam, were also involved in the robbery. 1 motorcycle, 1 printer machine, 4 cell phones, and the iron rod used to break the locks were confiscated and all 4 were lodged in Tirupur District Jail.
