Murugasamy died on the way to the Coimbatore Government Hospital today after being taken to the Coimbatore Government Hospital by prison guards.
According to prison sources, Murugasamy was serving a life sentence at the Coimbatore Central Jail. Early this morning he suddenly fainted due to ill health. Prison guards immediately rushed him to the prison hospital for first aid. Following that, he was rushed to Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment.
Murugasamy, who had been receiving treatment since midnight, died this morning as treatment failed. Coimbatore Racecourse police have registered a case and are investigating.
