Inebriated man kills brother-in-law as he intervened while arguing with his wife in Valparai


Coimbatore: Inebriated man stabbed his brother-in-law as he intervened while arguing with his wife in Valparai. Anusuya, 35, a resident of Kamarajar nagar, is working as a labourer. Anusuya's brother - Palani Raja (31) is not married and stays at Anusuya's house. Palani Raja came to his sister’s house after work at 10.00 last night.

Her sister's husband Kanagaratnam in an inebriated condition was arguing with his sister. He asked her why his brother-in-law came home drunk and was quarrelling with her and asked her to go to bed as she had to go to work tomorrow. Kanagarathnam said he is going to make a fuss and went to the bathroom and while coming back he brought a knife from the kitchen. He then looked at Palani Raja and told him that he will shout at her and he cannot do anything about it and stabbed Palani Raja.

When Anusuya saw this she screamed and with the help of people in the neighborhood, Palani Raja was rushed to the Valparai Government Hospital by 108 ambulance and the doctor who examined him said that he was brought dead. His body is being kept at Valparai Government Hospital for autopsy. Kanagaratnam was arrested by Valparai police and brought to Valparai police station. The incident has caused a great stir in the Valparai area
