Subramaniya Swamy - Valli Deivanai Thirukalyanam event held at Coimbatore Marudhamalai temple with great fervour
Coimbatore: The famous Marudhamalai Murugan Temple in Coimbatore is revered by devotees as the 7th 'Padai Veedu' of Lord Murugan.

The annual Thaipoosam festival is held here with much fervour. Various restrictions have been imposed on behalf of the temple administration to hold the Thaipoosam festival due to the COVID-19 this year.
Vastu Pooja was held on the night of the 21st and flag hoisting was held on the 22nd. Yagas were held daily in the morning and evening. Subramaniya Swami - Valli Theivanai Thirukkalyanam was held at the early morning Brahma Muhurtham from 3 to 6 pmas the beginning of the Thirukalyanam event.

This was followed by a procession with Subramania Swamy Valli- Deivanai in a small chariot. Devotees are not allowed in this. Thaipoosam chariot procession has been canceled due to coronavirus.
Devotees who came on the "Pathayathirai" by foot last night with 'Paal kudam' and 'Paal kavadi' were not allowed and were allowed for Swamy Darshan at 7 am after the poojas. Cars and two-wheelers were also not allowed in the temple. The Thirukalyanam which is usually grand affair took place in the absence of devotees due to COVID-19
