Man sentenced to 14 years in prison for killing his friend over a quarrel.
The Nilgiris: Dharmadurai and his friend Thangavel were labourers from Pudukkottai who were working on the Doctor's housing quarters in 2017 at the Goodshed are in The Nilgiris. During their work tenure, both Dharmadurai and Thangavel shared a room.
Meanwhile, Dharmadurai wanted to borrow 100 rupees from Thangavel for consuming alcohol. Both of them got into a fight when Thangavel refused to hand over the money. During the fight Dharmaraj violently attacked Thangavel with a dosa pan. Thangavel who was heavily injured in this fight died on the spot.
Post this a case was filed at the Ooty G1 police station and the case was brought to trial at the court in Ooty. After the hearings on both sides, Judge Sanjay Baba sentenced Dharmadurai to 14 years in prison and a fine of rupees 2,000 rupees.
