Women and family members denied entry into a temple in Coimbatore; lodges complaint

Coimbatore: Kamatchi who hails from NGGO colony, Coimbatore was denied entry to a Karuparayan Temple in her area.

Kamatchi who is a resident of the locality for 22 years decided to visit the Karupurayan Temple near her area along with her family members as her granddaughter was sick.

It is said that an old woman along with a general store owner denied their entry into the temple as they belonged to Arunthathiyar community. The old woman and the shopkeeper asked Kamatchi to pray standing outside the temple premises and further added that nobody from their community will be allowed inside the Karupurayan Temple.

Kamatchi then filed a complaint at the Thudiyalur police station requesting the officials to take immediate actions on the people who discriminate Arunthathiyar community people from entering public temples.
