Coimbatore: Election officials have decided to go with additional voting booths due to the Covid-19 fear. Post that a voting booth is expected to be shared only by 1000 voters.
Post this decision, election department officials have selected additional voting booths in the district. The election officials are now involved in inspecting basic amenities like water supply, electricity connection and restroom facilities at the additional venues.
Coimbatore District Election Department Officials said that : "Coimbatore district has around 3,048 voting booths and around 1,574 voting booths have been additionally added.
Post this the Election Department Officials are involved in conducting mandatory checks of basic amenities especially in the highly tensed voting booths across the city."
