KG Hospital inaugurates upgraded Accident and Emergency Services; a zero-delay emergency service

Coimbatore: KG Hospital, one of the leading multi-speciality hospitals in Coimbatore inaugurated its upgraded Accident and Emergency Services on January 27, 2021.



A zero- delay emergency room, featuring 7-bedded emergency unit and 21 bedded ICU on the first floor. With 7 dedicated doctors present 24/7 at the ICU.

S.P. Anbarasan, Chairman, Nallaram Trust who was the chief guest for the event in the presence of Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman, KG Hospital and Dr. Ashok Bakthavathsalam, Managing Trustee, KG Hospital, inaugurated the new service, on Wednesday.

In a bid to save time, the newly-launched accident and emergency services wing is directly accessible from the hospital's entrance. Precisely, the upgraded emergency unit is a zero- delay emergency room, featuring 7-bedded emergency unit and 21 bedded ICU on the first floor. With 7 dedicated doctors present 24/7 at the ICU.

Speaking on the new initiative, Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam said KG Hospital was the first to start emergency services in Tamil Nadu in 1974 and now there has been an update.

From common man to elites like Kalaignar Karunanidhi, Actor Sivaji Ganesan, Lyricist Kannadasan, more than 2 lakh lives have so far been under the emergency unit, he recalled.
