DMK leader Stalin honors 105-year-old Padma Shri recipient Pappammal in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: DMK leader MK Stalin, who was here in the city on Tuesday evening congratulated amd honored 105-year-old Padma Shri recipient Pappammal.
MK Stalin, who arrived at the Coimbatore airport from Chennai to attend the wedding reception of Former AIADMK MP KC Palanisamy's daughter was given a warm welcome at the airport by DMK cadres.
Later, he met centenarian grandma Pappammal who is a member of DMKand felicitated her with a shawl and floral bouquet.
Moved by his gesture, Grandma Papppammal blessed the DMK President all success and good health. The family members of the Grandma told that Stalin had called her over phone on Monday night, after the award was announced and congratulated her.
Earlier in a tweet, Stalin recalled Pappammal's dedication to the party by taking part in various protests. Age is never a barrier and her award is a honour for the party, he said.
Singanallur Constituency MLA N. Karthik MLA, and other key district functionaries CR Ramachandran, Paiya KrishnanSenapathy and many others were present.
