TNAU Celebrates the 72 nd Republic Day
Coimbatore: The Republic Day celebration was held in TNAU on 26 th January 2021. Dr. N. Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) hoisted the national flag and gave away the Republic Day address.

The Vice-Chancellor in his 72 nd Republic Day address recalled the eternal memories of the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for a new lease of life. He appreciated the scientists and all staff, students for their efforts to elevate TNAU being Eighth in ICAR Ranking and considered as Fourth among the Agricultural Universities of the country during this Golden Jubilee year.
He stressed that even under this Covid–19 situation, TNAU had successfully completed online classes and examinations for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes. He also congratulated the National topper for securing First Rank in Horticulture (Kaleeswari) and other toppers. He also appreciated the efforts of the scientists involved in the development of eleven new varieties which was recently released as a Pongal gift to the Tamil Nadu Farmers.
He recollected the visit of the Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu during the 41 st annual convocation and his remarks on maintaining the tradition and traditional foods. He insisted all as an Agricultural Graduate, all should have determination in our mind to work for the welfare of farmers and thereby contribute for Nation’s growth and development.
