Sasikala's health improving, Doctors
V K Sasikala (66), former AIADMK leader who is undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI), is alert and conscious, doctors said on Monday.
A health bulletin issued by the BMCRI on Monday morning stated that Sasikala was conscious, alert, well-oriented with her symptoms reducing, She is walking with support, sitting comfortably and consuming oral food, normally.
Sasikala, 66, who was a close aide of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha was shifted to the ICU of the hospital last Wednesday after her blood oxygen levels dropped with complaints of fever, cough and breathlessness.
While the Covid results showed negative, her CT scan confirmed her as Covid positive and was diagnosed with severe acute respiratory illness (SARI).
It may be noted that she was about to be released from Parappana Agrahara Prison in Bengaluru, after serving four years of sentence for amassing wealth.
